21 Oct Puja Parikrama: A Journey of Joy for Our Elderly – 2023
TriBeCa Care: Bringing Joy to Our Beloved Seniors At TriBeCa Care, the spirit of Durga Puja comes alive with an unmissable opportunity to bring happiness and fulfillment to our cherished seniors. In the heart of Kolkata, on the 17th and 18th of October (Tritiya and Choturthi), we orchestrated our highly-anticipated Puja Parikrama event. This heartwarming journey saw elderly members from both South and North Kolkata coming together to explore the city’s most renowned Durga Puja pandals.
Exploring the Extravaganza
As our dear elders boarded the bus, they were greeted with warm smiles and a thoughtful breakfast, ensuring their comfort throughout the day. This simple yet significant gesture set the tone for the day’s festivities.
Our gathering for a delightful lunch at the iconic 6 Ballygunge Place was a testament to our commitment to providing a holistic experience. The culinary delights offered a taste of Kolkata’s rich heritage and culinary culture.
The adventure continued as we embarked on a magical journey, visiting several beautifully adorned Thakurs. The pandals came to life, teeming with devotees and enthusiasts, creating a vibrant atmosphere that added to the festive spirit.
During this incredible journey, lifelong friendships were formed among our seniors. Many of them, who were strangers at the beginning of the day, now share a unique bond that will be cherished for years to come. At their age, these moments of camaraderie are treasured as the most significant achievements.
For the sons and daughters who often worry from afar, seeing the sheer happiness on their parents’ faces during this event is a priceless reassurance. It’s a heartwarming reminder that their loved ones are not just taken care of but are thriving in the company of like-minded individuals.
As the day drew to a close, we returned home with hearts full of beautiful memories and joy, a tangible testament to the success of our Puja Parikrama.
A Personal Perspective
One participant shared their perspective on the day, saying, “This year, after the conclusion of our Puja festivities, there was a desire to sing the song ‘Ki Anondo Akashe Batase‘ in the air with a smile. It’s not a big deal that I saw many deities, but the real joy was in coming together with everyone, enjoying delicious food, and experiencing a sense of togetherness. I felt extremely happy.”
Another participant reflected on the experience, saying, “There are still three days left for Durga Puja, but I’ve already had the opportunity to visit many deities. I hadn’t seen the deities for a long time due to the fear of crowds, but since last year, I’ve been visiting them with the help of Tribeca Care. I went there again this year, taking courage from their care, as I had seen their caring nature last year. This time, Ananya, Arpita, and Devyani were with us on the bus, and they were all very sweet. Devyani made the journey fun with her playful antics, and we enjoyed chatting and taking lots of photos.”
Elder People’s Feedback
Reflecting on the day, one of the elderly participants expressed their gratitude, saying, “This year, we’ve seen many wonderful deities. After getting off the bus, they offered us water and juice, and a packet of breakfast. We had lunch at 6 Ballygunge Place and then visited a few more deities. At that point, the pandal became quite crowded. After a whole day of wandering, we were all quite tired, so we decided to take the bus home. After getting on the bus, they gave us a beautiful memento of Goddess Durga’s face on a shawl. At this age, coming here and receiving these things brings a lot of peace to our hearts.”
In summary, this unique experience has allowed these seniors to make lasting friendships and create memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Our sons and daughters, who worry about us from afar, are also very happy to see us enjoying ourselves. After a while, we say our goodbyes and head home.
A Heartfelt Thanks
On this special day, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to TriBeCa Care for making this exceptional experience possible. Their commitment to enriching the lives of our elderly members is evident in every moment of this unforgettable Puja Parikrama.
In conclusion, Puja Parikrama is more than just an event; it’s a journey of joy and togetherness for our beloved seniors, and it’s a testament to the caring and compassionate spirit of TriBeCa Care.
