Home Alone is our attempt to shine a light on the trials and triumphs of Elder Care. So far neglected this mainstay of society must now start to recognize the needs of both parent and the children. Our intention is to bring to life real life stories, actual events and share learning: learn from trials and celebrate triumphs of this increasingly difficult responsibility. “Ordinary People. Extraordinary Lives.” is a catalog of shared experiences: an audit of how people deal with lives that must be lived far away from the parents they love. A place to raise their voice about how best they cope with the anxieties and how much they cherish the satisfaction of crisis averted.
To be shot only on cell phones and a maximum of 3 minutes, these films will be judged on the quality of idea, not the quality of the film. In essence, these will be the video version of a selfie. No editing, no background music, no fancy graphics. Pure and raw content: straight from the heart.
The winners will be judged on 2 criteria: Idea and Emotion. The winners will be able to nominate any loved one in the city of Kolkata for free 24 hour Emergency helpline services by TriBeCa Care. In the event they don’t have family or friends, they can pick from a set of names of people who want services but are unable to pay for them.
